WINTER BIRD

A shadow circulates with the cry of a bird

Which comes down as it gets dark

To complain to the reed

And all that breezes and the sighing stream

Seems to sense it

Was it you below the clouds earlier

With a screech that heralded the day

A tune thrown across the sky

Reaching the echo’s breath as your wings

Shredded the clear water

Would Winter's veil be settling in earlier

 Bringing silence to the nights

Would dawn remain colored

Charming hours be slow as the sun will be

Leaving the flower beds

The frosty wind brings back a presence

With an undeniable familiarity

A distant memory

Of a winter bird reaching from afar

Filling the evening sky
